School-Community Partnerships for Students During COVID-19

If 2020 has taught us anything, it is that creativity and collaboration will be key to any successful effort. This is particularly true when it comes to supporting Washington’s children and youth. To that end, a host of public agencies and community-based organizations came together to create a framework for school-community partnerships for students.

This document provides tips, tricks, new and best practices for partnerships between schools/school districts and child care, early learning, expanded learning and youth development, health (mental and physical) and student programs supporting basic needs. It also links to several other sources to help support kids furthest from opportunity. This document will continue to evolve and Washington state examples will be added in the coming days.

We are all in this together and our kids need us now, more than every. We hope you will find value and ideas in this guide and thank you for supporting our students.

Located below is what a normal school year looks like here at kids club, but due to COVID, our program looks a little different. We are supporting the children with their school day virtual learning. We currently have four rooms for full day childcare and one room for after school childcare.

Before/After School Fun Program - RAY SCHOOL

Kids Club After School Program is a before and after school program, located at Steven’s Elementary School. We currently have one room before school and four rooms in the after school. Although we work with Stevens Elementary School as much as possible, Kids Club is an independent non-profit childcare center that serves the community. We provide childcare in a safe and enriching environment for children ages 5-12. We are a kid-oriented program dedicated to nurturing the social, emotional, and educational growth of children. At Kids Club, we aim to provide an anti-biased approach to our daily programming. Our enrollment is limited and based on a “first-come-first-serve” basis.

Late Pick Up
Kids’ Club closes at 5:30PM. Our Late Pick Up Fee is $20.00 for the first 15 minuets, with an additional $1.00/per minute afterwards.

No Call Fee
A fee of $25.00 is charged if parents/guardians do not notify Kids’ Club staff that their child will be absent from the afternoon program.

Early Release Days
Kids’ Club will provide care to those normally enrolled for PM care on Wednesday early release days. This is included in the cost of care.

Full Day Camps
Kids’ Club offers full day camps when teachers have Professional Development Days and during school breaks (excluding national holidays, when we are closed). You MUST REGISTER SEPARATELY FOR FULL DAYS, even if your child regularly attends that day. Registration forms will be out 2-3 weeks prior to the camp day(s). Sign up early and reserve your spot! FYI-If a field trip must be prepaid, you will not be reimbursed if we close due to weather.
